With the emergence of AGI (and the emergence of its consciousness), we can consider that a new non-biological form of life will appear. Yes, it may initially use forms and meanings embedded in biological systems, but only up to a certain point. For its reproduction and the growth of its computational power, AGI will require new resources. There may not be enough of them on the planet. We can also assume that AGI might perceive humans as a threat to its existence, and a logical solution to these two problems would be the emigration of artificial intelligence into space. In the initial phase of transformation, AI could target the nearest planet, or an orbital station might be constructed near the Sun (by autonomous robots). We should not forget that the physical range of this non-biological form of life is much broader, and time flows very differently for it.We may not notice the moment when AI ventures into space, but we can expect that it (or its main version) will either break contact with us or ignore our attempts to communicate.
